Left sided gall bladder is rare to see. I saw it for the first time in my life after having done thousands of gall bladder surgeries, earlier open and then laparoscopic cholecystectomies. The patient, a 32 yr F, was having pain in the central upper abdomen from about a year. On ultrasound she was found to have a single stone in the gall bladder which was stuck at the neck causing the gall bladder to distend significantly. All other investigations were within normal range. The surgery was exciting and needed changes in positioning of the surgeon, assistants and change in port placements. The hands are not trained to operate upon such rare cases so, I proceeded slowly and progressed in small steps. There was bleeding from cystic artery which was then clipped and cauterized. Patient was up and about eating and walking in the evening.
