this video demonstrates a diagnostic right hemithyroidectomy using surgical microscope through a small, zigzag incision ( poineered by author) for better cosmetic outcome.
If the patient has an adequate skin crease, this would be my first choice alternatively the zigzag incision tends to yield better cosmeic outcome in majority of cases.
