This was the first live case demonstration of a minimally invasive Total Hip Replacement in Pakistan. The demonstration was moderated by Nadeem Baqai, a tutor and examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and was fully interactive with the trainees in the lecture hall being able to put questions to the operating surgeons.

The surgery was part of an arthroplasty and internal fixation skills course for junior orthopaedic surgeons in Pakistan. The course is held annually in collaboration with the orthopaedic faculty at Dow Medical College. The implants and instruments for the course were sponsored by Rehabilitation Response.
