Present video demonstrates a ooforectomy indicated by the presence of a large ovarian cyst on the left ovary. Patient had 62 years and was complaing of pain in the lower left abdomen for about one year. Ultrasound showed a large cyst on the left ovary. Laparoscopy was indicated and it was performed an ooforectomy of the left ovary. During the surgery, it was noted that the cyst was blocked by mesoconlon of the colon sigmoid and was inlaid by the peritoneum. All mobilization of the ovary was made using ligasure device. No important bleeding was observed.
The movie showed how the cyst was emptied using external puncture to reduce it's size and allowing their removal through a small incision.
Patient was discharged to home next day with oral analgesics with no antibiotics. |
