Chronic postnasal drip whether from allergic rhinitis or sinusitis can result in postnasal lymphoid hyperplasia including the mucosa at around the Eustachian tube opening. These tubal or peritubal lymphoid hyperplasia may cause eustachian tube dysfunction result with the presenting symptoms such as block ear sensation, 'pressure' feeling in the ear, or even development of glue ear.
