This is a patient who presented for resection of his epiglottic cancer. Because I was unaware of his airway architecture, I decided to perform a Preoperative Endoscopic Airway Exam (PEAE). 1 This revealed (in addition to the patient's other issues) significant lingual tonsil hyperplasia.
