Cholesteatoma in the left year with ipsilateral profound sensorineural hearing loss and vertigo. Erosion of the lateral semisircular canal (LSC) can be noted on the preop CT scan. However, no true perfilymphatic fistula was discovered intraoperatively. In addition, there was narrow external auditory canal (EAC), low middle fossa dura (MFD) plate and narrow antrum. These clinical and anatomical features are the best indications for subtotal petrosectomy. |
