Description: In this study, we describe a modified technique for one trocar needlescopic assisted inguinal ‎hernia repair in children using; Endoclose Device, epidural needle, [venous access cannula and ‎two homemade Suture Retrieval Devices [Loop suture retrieval and hook suture retrieval. Only ‎one 5-mm umbilical port and 2-skin punctures [1mm and 1.2mm] are needed to perform the ‎procedure. The main concept with this technique is the percutaneous insertion of a purse string ‎suture around the internal inguinal ring with intracorporeal construction and tying of the suture. ‎The steps are ergonomic, fixed and consecutively applied without trial and errors. The preliminary results ‎are outstanding and encouraging. To the best of our knowledge, this technique has not been ‎reported in the literature. We refer to this technique as Shalaby-III . |
