This operative video shows the performance of a laparoscopic right colectomy with extracorporeal ileocolic anastomosis in an elderly lady with an obstructing caecal cancer. The authors show and explain the inherent difficulties of such an approach but suggest it has a place in the management of such patients. The video is associated with a manuscript under consideration for publication by the journal Colorectal Disease.
