Total Gastrectomy with "Uncut" Roux en Y Esophago-Jejunostomy with D2 Lymphadenectomy, Omentectomy & Bursectomy was done for Carcinoma of the Gastric Cardia in a 50 year old male at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital, Dhaka. We aimed at achieving an R0 resection.
The important stages of the procedure is presented here, with slightly enhanced speed during some portions, to reduce the video duration.
Final Pathological report was T3 N1 (2/23) M0.
The UNCUT ROUX EN Y technique is my personally preferred technique and currently our standard option for reconstructing the upper GI tract following both Subtotal or Total Gastrectomy done for either benign or malignant pathology. We have been performing this technique since 2014, with very encouraging results at our center.
