Laparoscopic Banded ( MiniMizer Ring) Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.:

Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass- "A Gold standard Bariatric Metabolic procedure." The metabolic benefits include remission/resolution of Type II Diabetes Mellitus along with various other associated co-morbidities like dyslipidemia, severe obstructive sleep apnea, snoring and breathlessness.

This video shows a Banded Bypass (RYGB) being done Laparoscopically. Placing a band above the anastomosis coverts the Gold standard into Platinum. A small gastric pouch of about 30ml is created and a classical roux-en-y gastric bypass is done. The Roux limb is brought retro-colic and ante-gastric. The Band (Minimizer Ring) is placed about 1.5cm to 2 cm above the stapled gastro-jejunostomy and fixed.
