This patient was resistant to clomiphene and 250 units/day gonadotropin. Laparoscopic ovarian drilling is a surgical treatment that can trigger ovulation in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
Women with PCOS may complain of irregular periods (oligo-amenorrhea), anovulatory menstrual cycles, weight gain, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, hair loss, cystic acne, depression, cystic ovaries, high levels of testosterone and infertility. Studies was prooved that Laparoscopic Ovarian Drilling is an effective treatment for PCOS in clomiphene-resistant, anovulatory women, it results in ovulation and conception.
