In this video we see the surgery of an Aurora Clinics Patient who underwent Breast Reduction surgery with Plastic Surgeon Adrian Richards. For more information on this procedure please go to:
So we are going to be performing a breast reduction on our patient today, I have done some markings with her sitting up, This is the meridian of the breast, this line is the same distance as this line from here to here same as from there to there that distance is the same from there to there we are going to cut around the nipple here, and reduce the size of the nipple and lift it up if you can imagine it there, so the idea is to remove the lower part of the breast this tissue here, and then lift the nipple up to this new position, and I will show you stages of the operation, Our patient feels she is a little bit larger on the left so we will take slightly more tissue from the left side. So this is the stage of the operation with the tissue removed, so now we are going to be removing the nipple up to that position there and then bringing the tissue together as you see The weight I have removed is 766 grams so you can see there, and we are going to have the tissue examined for breast cancer as well, we always send the tissue off so thats half way through the procedure and I will show you the end of the procedure in a minute. So we can see the difference between the two sides, this side is now finished the nipple is nice and pink all sewn up with absorb-able stitches and then glue on the incision so that side is finished and now the challenge is to make the left side the same so you can see the difference in the sizes between the two sides here, we will have a look from the top now, so now we can see the difference between the two sides this is the left side which i am going to reduce and this is the right which has been reduced as you can see, I thought I would show you the tissue we removed this is the left this is the right left is slightly heavier and it you know for me, carrying it around in my arms it is heavy so carrying it around on your chest all the time would really cause you difficulties in posture, back ache, neck ache if i walk around like that for a day I would have neck ache so you can see how removing this tissue from a patient it helps their posture its much easier for them to do activities so really good operation to remove this excess tissue from the bust that is too big for the physique. |
