(Language: English/French). Left revision tympanoplasty following previous failed operation. Transcanal approach. Middle ear exploration reveals a lateralization of the tympanic membrane which is disconnected from the malleus handle, with a simultaneous incus erosion and incudio-malleus dislocation. The incus is removed and the malleus is relocated allowing for a proper position, more posterior, of a prosthesis. A Grace Alto TORP is then positioned from the malleus to the stapes footplate with a silastic band. This ossiculoplasty allows for stable and efficient contact between the prosthesis head, the relocated malleus and the posterior half of the tympanic membrane. It is an alternative technique that sking grafting. Dr Robert Vincent, Causse Ear Clinic, Colombiers (Béziers), France.
