The movie presents the management of a 29year nullipara presenting with deep endometriosis infiltrating the low rectum, the sigmoid colon and the vagina.
We performed a low rectal 30mm disc excision along with a 50mm length sigmoid colon resection, instead a 25cm length unique colorectal resection. Postoperative outcomes were uneventful, with normal bowel movements from postoperative day 4.
This approach results from our belief that a less agressive surgery should always be preferred in young patients with severe colorectal endometriosis.
