扩张到下腔静脉的肾肿瘤切除术

A 45 year old female had Renal cell carcinoma of the right kidney with extension of tumour through the renal vein into the inferior vena cava almost reaching the right atrium, surprisingly having no lymphogenous or haematogenous metastasis. Her right radical nephrectomy including removal of tumour thrombus en masse from inferior vena cava was done using Cardiopulmonary bypass.The patient recovered uneventfully thus converting a dismal condition to a prognostically better condition. This is the first successful operation of it's kind in Bangladesh done at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
