Technique for intraoperative gastroscopy and transgastric endoscopy. This method is useful in cases of pathology in a remnant stomach (after roux-en-y gastric bypass), endoscopy after gastric bypass (to evaluate biliopancreatic limb or for ERCP), or for transgastric operations (cyst-gastrostomy, foreign body removal). Use of a balloon port (such as the Kii Access Systems, Applied Medical) prevents need for purse string sutures or other methods of fixation. |
