Full length Live Surgery Femtosecond Laser Keratoplasty in Corneal Opacity
These clips were taken live on Monday 29/12/2014 in the operative theater for preparation of the donor graft by the femtosecond laser (Abbot) using the mushroom technique.
60 years old female patient presented with central corneal opacity 3*4mm and treated with femtosecond laser keratoplasty.
The Palpebral fissure of the patient eye was so tight and narrow that not allows the suction ring to be introduced into the eye. I had to do lateral canthotomy to widen the palpebral fissure in order to complete the procedure.
The donor graft was removed from its stump.
The patient diseased cornea was removed followed by fitting the donor graft and suturing it to the patient corneal periphery.
