Patient with left side paraganglioma type B3. Subtotal petrosectomy was performed. The ear canal was closed and the cavity was obliterated with abdominal fat.
The operation starts with canal-wall mastoidectomy, followed by posterior tympanotomy along the mastoid segment of the facial nerve. Wide exposure was achieved after removal of the posterior wall of the ear canal. It was followed by removal of the ossicles, infiltrated bone in the supratubal region, medial to the eustachian tube, inferior to the temporal bone, medial to the mastoid segment of the facial nerve. |
