Laparoscopic Repair of a Large Hiatal Hernia with Biologic Mesh and Nissen Fundoplication

This video shows the steps for laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair. Large hiatal hernia repairs have higher incidence of recurrence, and use of mesh may reduce this incidence. There are pros and cons of using biologic vs synthetic mesh, which are used often in case of large hiatal hernias. We used biologic mesh for this surgery as demonstrated.
